Ultra-Lyte® has an extended shelf life. Other super-oxidized waters are stable for only a few hours because they are manufactured using old-fashioned power supplies and electrolytic cells of mediocre quality.
As a result, the free available chlorine in these liquids is unstable and easily evaporates, causing an immediate strong chlorine odor. This makes storage and transportation impractical. In Food Contact Substance Notification (FCN) 2316, the FDA accepted Ultra-Lyte® as being stable for six months.
